Refund Policy

Orange Ave., Suite 500, Orlando, Florida 32801, or via e-mail to [email protected], or by filling out the withdrawal form available at the online campus. If Ambra cancels a course, the student will be immediately notified and refunded the tuition paid equating to the course credit.
Continued enrollment as a student in good standing and other student benefits (diplomas, transcripts, participation in online courses and resource services) are contingent upon being current on all financial obligations to the institution. The institution reserves the right to interrupt or block student access to the distance learning courses if agreed payment is delayed over ten (10) days, or upon notice to the student of a violation of school policies.
Should a student enrollment be terminated or canceled for any reason (including mitigating circumstances)all financial adjustments will be made according to the following:
Cancellation can be requested by electronic mail or by certified mail.
By mail to:
Office of the Registrar
Ambra University

The student should keep a record of the date, time, and place of mailing of the notice of cancellation or withdrawal. The Termination Date is either the date when the written notice of cancellation is received by Ambra or, in the case of absence of a written notice of cancellation, Ambra reserves the right to determine the termination date based on the last date of attendance by the student.
Application fee refund
The application fee is refunded if an applicant is denied by the institution or if the applicant cancels application within 5 days of the date that the application fee has been paid.
Cancelations between academic terms
No tuition will be charged for terms that the student does not register. Students are only charged for courses that they start.
Cancelations during the academic term
For courses that the student has started, the following table will be applied for calculating the portion to be charged of the cancelled course depending on the week of the academic term that the cancellation was requested by the student.
Data de cancelamento ou término* | Percentual a ser cobrado como base no total de créditos matriculados (trimestre de 10 semanas) |
---|---|
Drop/Add Period (Before or on week 1) | 0% (no charge) |
On week 2 | 20% |
On week 3 | 40% |
On week 4 | 60% |
On week 5 | 80% |
After Week 5 | 100% (full tuition charged) |
* Weeks are considered to begin on Monday at 12:00 AM (EST) and to end on the following Sunday at 11:59 PM (EST).
Upon cancellation, if the student has paid more than the new total calculated (e.g. One-time Payment Option), he/she will be refunded the overpaid difference. If the student has paid less than the new total calculated (e.g. Installments Plan Option), he/she will be charged the underpaid difference. If any refund is due, it will be processed within 30 days of the termination date.
Refund calculation example 1 – one-time payment option
Scenario: a student registers for one class of 4.5 credits of the Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Business Administration and therefore owes 4.5 x $230.00 = $1,035.00 for that class. The student then chooses the one-time payment option and pays $1,035.00 upfront. On week 3 of the academic calendar, the student files a written request to withdraw from that class. According to the refund table above, cancellations on week 3 should be charged 40% of the total cost of the cancelled class, namely 40% x $1,035.00 = $414.00. Because the student has paid more than he owes after the withdrawal, Ambra will then refund the difference ($1,035.00 - $414.00 = $621.00) to the student.
Refund calculation example 2 – installment payment option
Scenario: a student registers for one class of 4.5 credits of the Master of Science in Legal Studies and therefore owes 4.5 x $358.00 = $1,611.00 for that class. The student then chooses the installment payment option and will be invoiced in 3 monthly installments of $537.00 for that class. On week 4 and after paying one installment of $537.00, the student files a written request to withdraw from that class. According to the refund table above, cancellations on week 4 should be charged 60% of the total cost of the cancelled class, namely 60% x $1,611.00 = $966.60. Because the student has paid less than he owes, Ambra will then charge the difference ($966.60 - $537.00 = $429.60) from the student.
Trial Period
All students enrolling for the first time at Ambra qualify for a 1-month Trial Period. Students may cancel their enrollment in up to 1 month after classes begin according to the class schedule for the current term and be entitled to full tuition refund. If the student does not cancel by the 30th day after “Class Start” date stated in the class schedule, then he/she will be refunded according to the General Refund Policy above. Cancellations for the Trial Period must be in writing and must be received by Ambra by the 30th day after “Class Start” date stated in the class schedule, otherwise, the student will be refunded according to the General Refund Policy above. During the Trial Period, Ambra will evaluate student commitment and progress. Students could be terminated from the program for unsatisfactory academic progress during the trial period. In the case of termination by Ambra, no tuition is charged. The application fee is NOT refundable in case of cancellation by the student.
